Modern Theatre dance is a rhythmic dance style rooted in musical theatre, which originated in America. It is often seen in musical productions and is known for its dynamic theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Modern Theatre also incorporates jazz, lyrical and contemporary dance styles into its examination syllabus. Modern Theatre Dance defies a single permanent definition. This is largely due to its ability to adapt, develop and evolve with the changing fashion in dance.

These classes are perfect for young dancers (boys and girls) aged 4 and above who love to move, express themselves, and explore new styles.
What to wear
What to wear
Students should wear a leotard or unitard with footless tights. Barefoot is recommended. Hair must be neatly tied back and off the face. Please avoid excessive jewelry.

Enrolling in our modern dance classes is easy.
- Start by completing the enquiry form below so Sam can match your child to the best class for their age and experience.
- Once we find the right fit, we’ll confirm the class with you.
- We will then send a link to complete an enrolment form.
- Once enrolment has successfully been completed, your child can begin their weekly classes.
Pricing starts at $120 per term.

Enrolment is recommended at the start of the year or before the start of each school term. A trial class is offered to all new students. Kindly complete the form below to ensure your dancer is matched into the right class.
